在尝试Haoma餐厅的美食时,我也深深感受到了各种鲜美、香浓的味道,就如同印度的诗歌和音乐般,充满着奇妙的韵律和节奏。这种丰富、独特的味道,让人们对于印度美食的认知不断拓宽,尤其是在体验中,那种感觉就像是在品尝一首首古典诗歌一样,犹如一段优美的旋律。
When trying the cuisine at Haoma, I deeply felt the various delicious and fragrant flavors, like Indian poetry and music, full of wonderful rhythms and beats. This rich and unique flavor has widened people’s understanding of Indian cuisine, especially in the experience, which feels like tasting classical poetry, like a beautiful melody.

每一道菜肴都精致得像个艺术品,虽然有点觉得曲高和寡,就好像不是每个人都能欣赏艺术歌曲一样。不过,汤品、印度咖喱都是印象深刻的一道,味道香浓,富有创意,碗碟也超级精致,甚至连螺都搬上来变成盛汤的碗。而且每一道料理都会配合明信片的故事,犹如展开了一趟印度之旅,让人流连忘返。但是,主餐方面竟然是两款印度面包,搭配咖喱,虽然吃得饱,但却意犹未尽,吃得不够爽啊!
Each dish is as exquisite as a work of art, although it may be a bit niche, like not everyone can appreciate opera. However, the soups and Indian curries are impressive, with a rich taste and creativity, and the bowls and plates are super delicate, even using shells as bowls for soup. In addition, each dish is accompanied by a postcard story, like embarking on a journey to India. However, the main course is surprisingly just two Indian breads, paired with curry, although filling, it was not satisfying enough to eat.

另一方面,过度注重仪式感的fine dining是否真的值得去尝试?这是一个见仁见智的问题。在我的观点中,我认为Haoma餐厅的精致服务和注重环保的理念,已经在当今社会中越来越受到重视。但是,过度注重表演和仪式感,却让整个用餐体验变得有些虚无缥缈,缺乏实质性的体验和回味。比如表演怎么制作冰棍啦,怎么制作ais kacang啦。虽说他们旨在介绍较为古早风味的美食,哎,但我在想,难道这些食客真的孤陋寡闻到如此吗?需要靠你介绍一些早已耳熟能详的街边美食?

On the other hand, is fine dining that emphasizes ritual really worth trying? This is a matter of personal opinion. In my view, I believe that Haoma’s exquisite service and emphasis on environmental protection are increasingly valued in today’s society. However, excessive emphasis on performance and ritual makes the entire dining experience somewhat illusory, lacking substantial experience and aftertaste. For example, the performance of making ice cream and ais kacang. Although they aim to introduce more old-fashioned flavors of food, I wonder if these diners are really so ignorant that they need you to introduce some already well-known street food?

总体而言,Haoma餐厅的美食和环保理念值得一试,特别是对于那些爱好fine dining的消费者来说。但是,在过度注重仪式感的同时,我们也需要更多地关注食材的质量和可持续性,同时也更加注重用餐体验中的实质性回味。你说值得吗?那就见仁见智了。我觉得还是OK的,因为食物是好吃的。而且透过故事也的确能够稍微了解厨师的故事和一些鲜为人知的印度文化。
Overall, Haoma restaurant’s cuisine and environmental protection philosophy are worth a try, especially for those who enjoy fine dining. However, while emphasizing ritual, we also need to pay more attention to the quality and sustainability of the ingredients, as well as the substantial aftertaste of the dining experience. Whether it is worth it or not is subjective. I think it’s still okay because the food is delicious.
